Norway is home to thousands of clubs, associations, volunteer organizations and local communities. But finding opportunities to participate, knowing whether you're welcome and taking that first step aren't always straightforward.
Welcome Week is a nationwide initiative that encourages organizations to actively welcome international residents, whether they've just arrived in Norway or have lived here for years. It's also an invitation to Norwegian communities and residents to take part in making their local communities more welcoming.
The first edition took place from 21–27 September 2026. Events ranged from small gatherings in people's homes and local sports activities to large community events, with participating organizers creating their own opportunities for people to meet, try something new and get involved.wed just how many ways there are to welcome someone in.
