Welcome Week Connectors are the friendly faces and extra hands helping bring Norway Welcome Week to life!
Norway Welcome Week brings together events hosted by communities, organizations, and individuals across Norway.
As a Welcome Week Connector, you might welcome people arriving at an event, say hello to someone who's come alone, help an organizer with something practical, take a few photos, point people in the right direction, or simply help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
You don't need any special experience, and you don't need to volunteer for the whole week. We'll match you with an event based on where you are, when you're available, and where some extra help would be useful.
You also don't need to give us your whole Welcome Week. You choose what you can offer. We'll work around your availability and match you with something that makes sense.
You don't need any special experience. We're mainly looking for people who are happy to:
👋 Go up to someone and say hi, especially if they've arrived alone or look a little unsure.
📸 Capture some of the action with photos, short videos, little moments from Welcome Week (and upload them quickly!).
🙌 Jump in and help. Every event is different, so this could mean welcoming people, helping with setup, giving directions, handing something out, or whatever small thing makes the event easier.
✨ Bring good energy: be curious, approachable, and ready to meet people you probably haven't met before.

By signing up to be a Welcome Week Connector, you agree to follow these guidelines while volunteering for Norway Welcome Week 2026.
Each organizer leads their own event.
You're there as an extra pair of hands, and a smiling face! You should be in touch with the event organizer ahead of time to coordinate.
If there's not much help needed from them throughout the event, you can take photos/videos for Unlock Norway, make sure people feel included, and contribute to the overall event atmosphere.
We're counting on you!
Welcome Week is a completely volunteer-run, grassroots initiative, and the event organizers are not operating with massive events budgets. If you commit to helping out at an event, both Welcome Week and the event organizer will be counting on you.
Of course, if something changes, no stress—just let us know as soon as you can!
Use your judgement when it comes to photos.
We'd love to see the people, activities, and atmosphere of Welcome Week! But please exercise common sense when documenting people.
All events have a small paragraph about photos and videos included in the confirmation email. It's a good idea for event organizers to make a GDPR announcement at the beginning of the event as well.

If something strange happens or confusing comes up, remember that you don't need to fix everything yourself. Talk to the organizer, and you are always welcome to contact the Welcome Week team (you'll get direct contact info after signing up).

Be welcoming, be useful where you're needed, and actually talk to people!
If you see someone standing awkwardly on their own wondering whether coming was a terrible idea, go say hi.
In return for your comittment:
Meet people. You'll get to know organizers, attendees, other volunteers and communities you might never otherwise come across.
Experience something new. Your volunteering might take you into a museum, a hike, a workshop, a community dinner, a sports club, or somewhere completely unexpected.
Be part of making Norway more welcoming! Sometimes the smallest thing (like greeting someone who's come alone, or helping an organizer for an hour) can make a real difference to how an event feels.
Build experience. You're welcome to include your role as a Welcome Week Connector at Norway Welcome Week 2026 on your CV or LinkedIn.
You don't need to volunteer for the whole week. Even an hour or two at one event can be a huge help. Tell us when you're available, and we'll take it from there.
